The Microsoft Windows 2000 track for MCSE is designed for information technology professionals working in a typically complex computer environment of medium to large organizations. A Windows 2000 MCSE candidate should have at least one year of experience implementing and administering a network operating system. If you feel you do not have the relevant networking experience, we suggest taking the CompTIA Network+ certification, which is now part of the MCSA curriculum. The MCSE 2000 track requires five core exams and two elective exams that provide a valid and reliable measure of technical proficiency and enterprise. Exam break-downs Candidates require all 4 of the following CORE exams 70-210, 70-215, 70-216 and 70-217) All candidates must then pass one of the following Core exams 70-219 OR 70-220 OR 70-221 Plus all candidates must pass two elective exams. These can be from either 70-219, 70-220, 70-221 and 70-222 or selected third party exams (still current MCSE electives) can be counted as ONE elective. Please Note. Core exams that can also be used as elective exams may only be counted once toward a certification; that is, if a candidate receives a credit for an exam as a core in one track, that candidate will not receive a credit for that same exam as an elective in that same track.
