The new Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) on Microsoft Windows® 2000 credential will advance your career by ensuring you have the skills to successfully manage and troubleshoot system environments running on the Windows 2000 operating system.

The Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) credential proves that you have the skills to successfully implement, manage, and troubleshoot the ongoing needs of Microsoft Windows® 2000–based operating environments.

An MCSA candidate should have 12 months of experience working with a desktop operating system, a network operating system, and an existing network infrastructure.

MCSA candidates are required to pass three core exams and one elective exam. Additional exams may be required for MCSA specialisations.

CORE requirements (all three required):
Install, Configure and Administer Windows 2000 Professional (70-210)
Install, Configure and Administer Windows 2000 Server (70-215)
Manage a MS Windows 2000 Network Environment (70-218)

ELECTIVES (choose one of the following):
CompTIA A+ and Network+
OR
CompTIA A+ and Server+
OR
Implement & Administer a MS Win 2000 Network Infrastructure (70-216)

Microsoft recommends that MCSA certification candidates new to IT choose one of the CompTIA options.
